With a vibrant smile, her aqua leotard hugging her frame as she stretched. She had the energy of someone half her age, and the confidence to match. A few people gathered around her, curious about the conversation she had just started.
Geri asked the obvious question, "But don't you want to be a young man again?"
"No never. I'm an old lady and I love it." Continuing, "You know," her eyes twinkling with mischief, "people always asked me, ‘Why did you do it? Why did you give up your life as a young man to become an elderly grandma?’" She let out a hearty laugh, waving off the very idea. "And I tell them—absolutely not! I’d rather be an old lady any day!"
The group chuckled, and she continued, her voice lively and full of conviction. "Look, I’ve had my time being young. Sure, things don’t work quite as smoothly as they used to, but let me tell you—being an older woman has its perks! I get to say whatever I want, and people just chalk it up to me being a ‘cute grandma.’" She winked playfully.
"As for being a man?" she shook her head. "No, thank you! I don’t need the hassle of trying to act all tough or not showing my emotions. I can wear bright colors, dance in my leotard, and not worry about any of that. I get to embrace every part of who I am, and let’s be real—when you’re an old lady, people don’t expect much, so anything you do is impressive."
She grinned, her enthusiasm contagious. "I’ve lived, I’ve loved, I’ve danced, and I’ve got nothing left to prove. I’d take being a grandma over being a man at any age—any day of the week! and twice on Sundays." The group laughed and clapped, inspired by her unabashed joy for life.
